Goldwork

This is a beautiful form of embroidery using metal threads. Marjorie has studied this technique at the Royal School of Needlework in England, and has attended classes for the last eight years, to perfect her skills in this and many more special needlework processes. In September 1997, she completed the RSN's Goldwork Master Class (the only American invited to participate) taught by Mrs. Elizabeth Elvin, principal of the Royal School. Traditionally, Goldwork is worked on fabric, usually silk or velvet. Marjorie not only teaches the technique on fabric, but has also adapted the method for needlepoint canvas.
